Am Mittag wurde ich von einem Taxi abgeholt... es war Zeit mich vom Supergastgeber Sameer und seinen Angestellten der Mwambani Beach Villa (https://mwambanibeachvillastanga.tz-com.com) zu verabschieden. Said fuhr mich zur neuen Bushaltestelle in Kange, wo der Bus direkt nach Lushoto bereitstand. Ich bezahlte dem Taxifahrer 20'000 Schilling (USD 8) für die kurze Strecke und dem Busfahrer 10'000 Schilling plus 5'000 für meine 3 Gepäckstücke (total USD 6) - das letztere für eine Fahrt von 180 km...

At midday, I was picked up by a taxi... it was time to say goodbye to super host Sameer and his staff at Mwambani Beach Villa (https://mwambanibeachvillastanga.tz-com.com). Said drove me to the new bus station in Kange, where the bus to Lushoto was waiting. I paid the taxi driver 20'000 shillings (USD 8) for the short trip and the bus driver 10'000 shillings plus 5'000 for my 3 pieces of luggage (USD 6 total) – the latter for a 180 km journey...

Nach 5 Stunden um 17:30 Uhr erreichten wir Lushoto auf 1500 m: Die Temperaturen waren bedeutend kühler als an der Küste... 26 Grad am Tag und 16 in der Nacht! David (+255 782 375 783) vom David Crater Homestay (davidcrater@gmail.com) holte mich ab und wir gingen auf eine kurze Runde durch den Markt um Obst einzukaufen, bevor wir 10 Minuten steil aufwärts zu seinem schönen Anwesen fuhren. Ich richtete mich für vier Tage in meinem hübschen Zimmer ein, während Concelatia Abendessen für mich kochte. : )

After five hours at 5:30 pm. we arrived in Lushoto at 1'500 meters: The temperatures were significantly cooler than on the coast... 26 centigrade during the day and 16 at night! David (+255 782 375 783) from David Crater Homestay (davidcrater@gmail.com) picked me up and we went for a quick stroll through the market to buy some fruit before driving 10-minute steep up to his beautiful property. I settled into my lovely room for 4 days while Concelatia cooked dinner for me...

Wieder war ich kurz vor Sonnenuntergang angekommen gestern am Abend und war gespannt, wie es hier bei Tageslicht aussah: Ich war mitten in einem üppigen tropischen Garten gelangt... mit vielen farbigen Blumen und Chamäleons auf den Bäumen! : )

Once again, I arrived just before sunset yesterday evening and was eager to see what it looked like in daylight: I found myself in the middle of a lush tropical garden... with lots of colourful flowers and chameleons in the trees! : )

Am Samstag wanderte ich 2 Stunden zum Irente Aussichtspunkt - es war nicht nur eine schöne Wanderung, sondern eine traumhafte Aussicht auf die Usambara Berge! Auf dem Rückweg haben mich Akbeer und Oya mitgenommen... und wir fanden heraus, dass sie im Sommer in Schottland wohnen - meine nächste Destination: Also werden wir uns nächsten Sommer in Glasgow wiedersehen!?

On Saturday I hiked for two hours to the Irente viewpoint – it wasn't just a beautiful hike but a breathtaking view of the Usambara Mountains! On the way back, Akbeer and Oya gave me a ride... and I discovered that they live in Scotland during the summer – my next destination! So, we will see each other again next summer in Glasgow!?

Der Kisasa Wasserfall stand am Sonntag auf meinem Programm: Eine meist abwärts führende Wanderung brachte mich in eineinhalb Stunden zum wunderschönen Wasserfall... Nachdem ich eine halbe Stunde aufwärts zurück zur Strasse geklettert war, entschied ich per Motorrad Taxi zurückzufahren: Eine gute Entscheidung - ich fühlte mich frei und luftig! : )

Kisasa Waterfall was on my programme for Sunday: A mostly downhill hike took me to the beautiful waterfall in an hour and a half... After climbing back uphill for half an hour to the road, I decided to take a motorbike taxi back: A good decision - feeling free and airy! : )
